Paper Craft Research

The term "paper craft" refers to group of crafts where paper or card is used as the main artistic medium to create two- or three-dimensional objects. Paper and card stock can be curved, bent, cut, glued, moulded, stitched, or layered, and they lend themselves to variety of techniques.

With more than ten years of experience at MIT and Mass Art, Brian Chan is an artist and craftsman. Over the years, he has developed a number of specialties, including painting and Japanese complex paper origami. The geometry component of folding origami is particularly satisfying to the MIT student. Numerous insects, such as the centipede, stag beetle, katydid, and one shown above, as well as comic book and anime characters are featured in his creations portfolio.https://youtu.be/JLmYygASQEA

I picked this artist to research because I am fond of Japanese origami and the way Brian makes his art work and insects just fascinated me. For my final project I hope to make an origami insect or animal like him.
